Austin, Texas, singer-songwriter Hunter Cahill found solace in making music. An escape from the year that shook the world when failing mental health rattled him. With precision and soulful integrity of sound, these new songs are part of a debut album release. One by one, the tracks are delivered until it is whole. Six songs for guitar, and six for piano.
The album, ‘Some Things You Don’t Know About Me’, reaches out with piercing authenticity and heart. A voice committed to the cause. Pulled from the depths to detail the pain and complexities of sadness, anger and betrayal.
The process proved an essential form of therapy and recovery for the artist. In turn, the music provides the same assisting hands to those who delve in and listen. The honesty of these songs is sometimes overwhelming, often heartbreaking, always compelling. A careful intertwining of the acoustic folk world and rock’s heavier, fuller sound.
‘Some Things You Don’t Know About Me’ is the meeting between the story told and the reality experienced. We blur the lines, fill in the gaps, and present only our best selves, even when we’re feeling our worst. That common thread is luring an audience of passionate listeners with a message.
