Falling Down
Hunter Cahill
Filmed across three counties in Texas.
Lyrics
It’s easy falling down
When down is the only way you’re ever shown
It’s easy being scared of everyone
When you look at everyone and don’t feel any love
Drugs only can
Hide the evidence
That I’m not trying
Can’t sleep again
Take some more medicine and pretend I’m dying
You dream in color I dream in gray
And though the thoughts won’t go away
I tried to drown ’em out
Nothing to figure out
Started at age thirteen
Getting high on gasoline
In my parents shed
Just me and all the things they never said
Drugs only can
Hide the evidence
I’m not trying
I start to feel again
Take some more medicine
And pretend I’m crying
I feel the farthest farthest in
Can’t find the point where it begins
It goes on for miles
I hope I don’t pass it on
To the ones I love
And please not my son
Drugs only can
Hide the evidence
I’m not trying
You on your jungle gym
Me on my medicine
Both pretend we’re flying
About
Hunter Cahill is an Austin, Texas singer-songwriter. His debut collection Some Things You Don’t Know About Me arrived between 2021 and 2022 — six self-recorded singles, music that was honest enough to keep its face hidden. The press noticed. Austin Town Hall drew comparisons to David Bazan; Soundsphere called it “stunning.” He released all of it wearing a wolf mask.
The Estuary Sessions, recorded with engineer Matt Gerhard, go further back than the coping does — to a religious upbringing where love and fear were indistinguishable, and what that does to a person.
